Tottenham Hotspur Vs Wolverhampton Wanderers – 12:30 SAT

Selections

Saturday’s early BT game from The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sees Conte’s team, who‘ve only lost once in last 14 PL games, square up against a Lage side who’ve only won once in the previous 10. Spurs have the knack of seeing out games with 19 straight PL wins when leading at halftime.

 Tottenham’s new signings seem to have gelled well, having had a good pre-season and a decent start to this campaign, having beaten Southampton 4-1 in week 1, then coming back from a losing position twice against Chelsea to nick a point and earn a 2-2 draw with a very late Kane equaliser in what was a controversial game, with both managers being sent off.

Wolves on the other hand, have struggled of late with very little movement in the transfer market, results on the pitch being inadequate and missing a goal scorer with Jimenez still sidelined. This could be a long old season for Wolves unless Lage can replace what his lost with affordable talent who’ll be ready for the top flight.

With 16 PL H2Hs having been played between these two, Spurs (W8, D3, L5) with the last games being a 0-2 away win for Wolves last season and Spurs winning the opposite fixture 0-1, so could there be a 3rd consecutive away win here? Wolves have been a bogie side for Spurs of late, losing only once in their last 5 away games (W3,D1)

Key stats

* Spurs lost once in last 14 PL games

* Wolves just 1 win in last 10 PL games

* 70% BTTS in last 10 games

* Wolves 3 away wins from last 5 H2Hs

* Kane’s scored 3 times in 9 appearances against Wolves

I predict a low scoring affair with both sides cancelling each other out until the break, with a pep talk at half time I see Spurs coming back out a different animal, so 2-0 with both goals from Kane would be a good bet. I just can’t see how Wolves are going to muster a threat to the Spurs defence and I see Lloris getting a clean sheet bonus this week.
