Bournemouth Vs Arsenal – 17:30 SAT

Selections

This isn’t Bournemouth’s favourite time to play as they’ve lost their previous 4 games they’ve played at 17:30 on a Saturday, conceding 9 times and only scoring once. Whilst Arsenal looks to win their first 3 opening games for the first time since the 2004/05 season and having not drawn away since 2/10/21 it’s likely this game from the Vitality Stadium will be decided either way. Both sides last 5 games show identically opposite from Bournemouth (W1,L4) to Arsenal’s (W4,L1).

After a quick start to the season with an impressive 2-0 win over Aston Villa on the opening day, they came falling back down to earth with a bang losing 4-0 to Man City. Adding Neto, Senesi, Rothwell, Fredericks and Tavernier to their squad the Cherries will be looking to get back to winning ways here and break the spell that Arsenal holds over them.

Arsenal look in the best shape they’ve been in for a long time scoring 6 times already in their first 2 games. Jesus looks the perfect No9 for The Gunners and has scored twice, both goals coming in the first half against Leicester in which they came out 4-2 winners, Martinelli also scored in that match and bagged his other goal the first for Arsenal this season in the opening day 0-2 win away at Palace.

Out of the 10 PL H2Hs between these 2 sides Arsenal have won 70% of the time, higher if you include Arsenal’s 1-2 away win in an F.A cup tie back in 2020. While the Cherries have just the 1 home win 2-1 which came back in 2018. This tie is generally a dirty one that produces a flurry of yellow cards and refereeing is Craig Pawson who handed out 5 yellows in the Everton v Chelsea game last week.

Key stats

* Arsenal haven’t Drawn in their last 27 professional matches

* Arsenal have scored 37 times in last 10 games (W9,L1)

* Bournemouth only one win in last 5 games

* 70% BTTS in last 10 H2Hs

* Jesus has won the 5 times his played against Bournemouth

I’d like to see the Cherries pick up something from this game but I just can’t see anything else but an Arsenal victory, 1-3 with Jesus and Martinelli both netting. It’ll be a niggly game so I see lots of cards and maybe an own goal or a penalty scored. Arsenal score early so I’ll be on them to win both half’s.
