THE JOE ROWNTREE MEMORIAL HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) (Beverley)
OUTRUN THE STORM (3) extended the good streak of form with an excellent runner-up effort in a stronger Newmarket handicap over 7f. Key winning hope. MAJESTIC (1) gained a deserved success with an impressive 5.5L breakthrough victory at Pontefract. Genuine contender to go back-to-back on handicap debut. HATHLOOL (2) is likely to be strong at the finish. Consider. BARNEY’S BAY (7) remains consistent. One for the placings.

THE WILLIAM HILL PRESTIGE FILLIES’ STAKES (CLASS 1) (Group 3) (Goodwood)
FAIRY CROSS (5) may build on a good second (well clear of the third) in the Listed Star Stakes at Sandown on her third career outing. Consider. BRIGHT DIAMOND (3) was probably first off the bridle on debut but picked up smartly for an impressive 9L success at Newmarket (July) and is in the mix. QUEEN OLLY (9) sets the standard finishing third in the G2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes though will need to prove this distance suits. BREEGE (2) managed third in the G3 Princess Margaret and cannot be dismissed.
2:05
THE WILLIAM HILL SILVER CUP HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) (Beverley)
WAIT TO EXCEL (1) is expected to take this class rise in his stride following an easy handicap debut win at Ripon over 1m 2f. Rates highly. The chief danger comes from POST IMPRESSIONIST (4) who drops in grade after a below par run as favourite at Chester. Huge claims for a leading stable. KITSUNE POWER (2) kept on strongly to take second in a better Goodwood handicap. Thereabouts. KNIGHTSWOOD (5) looks one for the placings maintaining an unexposed profile.
2:25
THE WILLIAM HILL HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) (Goodwood)
The form of a TACARIB BAY (4) Ascot second took a boost when the winner went on to win the G3 Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury. Richard Hannon has always held this colt in high-regard and a bold bid is anticipated racing off the same mark. ORBAAN (5) won a competitive handicap here in July and may go well following a keeping on fourth with this rating at York recently. I’M A GAMBLER (7) was 5lbs less for a comfortable course and distance success but could remain competitive. LYNDON B (11) is respected.
2:40
THE WILLIAM HILL BEVERLEY BULLET SPRINT STAKES (CLASS 1) (Listed Race) (Beverley)
TIS MARVELLOUS (8) was a course and distance winner at this standard prior to fair form at a higher level. Huge winning chance on figures if producing best. KORKER (9) finished strongly in this class at York despite a slow beginning. Top chance with the right run. ARECIBO (2) is a talented sprinter who was caught in traffic at Ascot last time. Must be taken seriously. EXISTENT (4) may improve receiving a nice low draw.
3:00
THE WILLIAM HILL MARCH STAKES (CLASS 1) (In Memory of John Dunlop) (Group 3) (Goodwood)
HOO YA MAL (2) can take this with a minimum of fuss following a pleasing stable debut third in the G3 Gordon Stakes here. The improving PERFECT ALIBI (3) rates an obvious option and may give a good account on the back of a Newbury handicap success. ANIMATO (1) rates third best while PINK FIRE LILLY (4) could struggle on all known form lines.
3:15
THE JENNINGSBET HOPEFUL STAKES (CLASS 1) (Listed Race) (Newmarket)
The improving MANACCAN (5) looked good, winning a 5f handicap at Ascot. If continuing to progress can play a major role. DANEH (11) hasn’t been seen since being beaten a neck in the G3 Prestige Stakes at Salisbury a year ago however does look a fascinating contender on reappearance. VADREAM (10) holds form to be thereabouts with the soft ground no issue. GREAT AMBASSADOR (1) proved unlucky when sixth in a competitive Goodwood handicap and may do well on ratings.
3:35
THE WILLIAM HILL CELEBRATION MILE STAKES (CLASS 1) (Group 2) (Goodwood)
A small turn out for this 1m G2 feature where MUTASAABEQ (4) has a few pounds to spare on official ratings and can return to winning ways if backing up a narrow defeat in the G2 Summer Mile at Ascot. JADOOMI (3) was well-placed to win at Clairefontaine (France) Listed event last time and looks the chief threat. ESCOBAR (1) might be involved on the back of a head second in a competitive 1m York handicap. STORMY ANTARCTIC (5) completes the shortlist with recent rain very much welcome.
