This is wide open renewal of the Golden Shaheen but the horse with the potential for further improvement is MERAAS. He achieved a peak rating of 100 when he was trained by Mark Johnston in the UK, but the switch to the UAE and in particular to the Dirt surface has turned him into a Group horse. He has won both his starts over this course and distance since he arrived in the gulf and judging by the way he finished his Group 3 win here on 11th February and a repeat of that effort should be enough to see him in the frame. Leading rider Antonio Fresu maintains the partnership and the pair could go well from a decent draw in stall 8.
