LANGER DAN was unlucky to be brought down in the early stages of the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham and is worth another chance. HIGHWAY ONE O TWO ran a career best when 2nd in the Lanzarote at Kempton and looks like he can go well again on a mark just 1lb higher. FILS D’OUDAIRIES is still unexposed over hurdles and should go well for Nicky Henderson. Whilst it is also worth including PADDY’S MOTORBIKE who has been running well in both codes for Sam Thomas.

JONBON was 2nd in the Supreme last time and that sets a clear form standard. He has had 3-weeks to recover and should at least make the frame if he can get near to that level of form.

BRAVEMANSGAME missed the Brown Advisory on account of the ground, but he still sets the standard and needs to be included with L’HOMME PRESSE who was so impressive 3-weeks ago. The ground isn’t soft enough for Fury Road, but AHOY SENOR beat the favourite in the Sefton here last season and so needs including too as we only have a field of 4.

FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES won this race 12-months ago and arrives here having won the Ascot Chase last time, it will be a big surprise if he doesn’t land another Grade 1 win, let alone a place.

There isn’t a standout candidate in this race, but a case can be made that the class could rise to the top, with BATTLEOVERDOYEN and SIZING POTTSIE bringing some solid Irish form into this contest. MISTER COFFEY ran well when 2nd in the Kim Muir and should go close if he is over those exertions, whilst BATCIO was an eye-catcher when 4th at Leopardstown a month ago.
