This is always a competitive race but the horse who looks to be the most well treated is BEFORE MIDNIGHT. Sam Thomas’ has had an outstanding season and looks to have saved his 9-year-old for this valuable prize. He finished 2nd to Funambule Sivola at Doncaster in January and given that Venetia Williams 7-year-old has gone on to win a Game Spirit and finish 2nd in the Champion Chase, it is fair to say that Before Midnight looks reasonably treated on a mark of 148. The drying ground shouldn’t be of any real concern as he has won on a sound surface in the past and he could give Sam Twiston-Davies a first win in this race.
