The weekend after the festival should always be treated with caution but this looks to be a very good opportunity for GEORDIE B to gain a first win over fences. Trained by Clive Boultbee-Brooks, he is very lightly raced for a Hunters Chaser, with just 4 starts over fences and a total of 10 runs under rules. He won a bumper and 2 hurdles for Venetia Williams before switching to this yard and code in 2021. He made his comeback from a 13-month absence to finish 3rd to Vivaldi Collonges in a Point-to-Point at Horseheath in December and produced his best effort next time at Lingfield in January. He finished 2nd to the very talented Dolphin Square in that Lingfield race, splitting the winner and West Approach and if he can repeat that effort, he should win this contest. Tommie O’Brien is an extremely capable jockey in this sphere and should be able to guide this 9-year-old to a 4th career success.
