1:20 Leopardstown – Ladbrokes Novice Chase (G1)
This race looks to revolve around GALOPIN DES CHAMPS. The winner of the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham festival last season, he made an extremely impressive debut over fences here at Christmas an on that evidence, is a worthy favourite for the Brown Advisory at the Festival this year.
He is the most likely winner of this race but makes little appeal at odds on after just 1 run over fences so there may be an angle to play against him in the each-way markets.
MASTER McSHEE makes most appeal at the current prices. He got the better of Farouk D’Alene in a thrilling finish to the Faugheen Novices Chase at Limerick on Boxing Day and should get a similarly patient ride here. Paddy Corkery’s stable star has won at the track before and shouldn’t have any real concerns over the drying ground and represents some solid each-way value to at least make the frame.
