Sixth seed Alexander Zverev made admirable progress in the 2023 season, winning 55 matches out of 82. The German tennis player reached the quarterfinals in two of his four Grand Slam tournaments, ending his title drought by claiming victories in Hamburg and Chengdu.

Alexander Zverev claimed a 3-1 victory in his opening match of the Australian Open against Dominik Koepfer and then also won against Lukas Klein 3-2. The 26-year-old continued his impressive performance against Alex Michelsen, beating him 3-0, and he beat Cameron Norrie via a final set tie-break in his last match.

Carlos Alcaraz Preview

Carlos Alcaraz is ranked 2nd in the ATP rankings, and he is among the favourites for this year’s Australian Open title. Carlos Alcaraz suffered a setback in last year’s edition after suffering an injury but participated in the 2021 and 2022 editions, exiting in the second and third rounds, respectively.

The young Spaniard began his tournament in style, cruising 3-0 past Frenchman Richard Gasquet and also 1-3 against Lorenzo Sonego. He continues to show his out-of-class performance against Chinesse Juncheng Shang, who retired to Carlos Alcaraz in the game, and his last match saw him defeat Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic 3-0.
