Wolves will be looking to continue their fine run of form when they take on Champions League contenders Newcastle at Molineux.
Wolves vs Newcastle 28/10/23 Preview:
What’s that? You don’t like draws? Especially 1-1 draws? Well in that case, don’t bother tuning into this one.
Ten of the last 16 Premier League meetings between these two clubs have ended in draws. Six of the last nine meetings, meanwhile, have ended in the 1-1 scoreline.
Interestingly, Wolves and Newcastle currently boast two of the Premier League’s longest active undefeated streaks.
Gary O’Neil’s side went four-matches unbeaten with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend.
Eddie Howe’s men, on the other hand, went five-matches unbeaten with a 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace.
Sandro Tonali could still play in the match as Newcastle claim his 10-match betting ban is still to be confirmed.
Alexander Isak (groin), Jacob Murphy (shoulder) and Elliot Anderson (back) are all out.
Wolves welcome back Mario Lemina and Nelson Semedo return from suspension for Wolves, while Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has recovered from a calf issue and could play. Joe Hodge and Hugo Bueno are both out for the home side.
The issue, however, for the Magpies is a growing injury list coupled with European duties. Newcastle are throwing their heart and soul into every minute of Champions League football – and so they should. But there is a risk that their continental duties and current injuries could impact league results.
Wolves have only lost two of their last 10 games at Molineux while the Magpies are winless at the ground in five attempts.
With Newcastle coming off a tough encounter against Dortmund in mid-week, Wolves will be determined to capitalise.
From a betting perspective, our recommendation is to back Wolves in the draw no bet market. Both teams to score is another nap considering it has landed in 15 of their last 16 meetings.
Wolves vs Newcastle 28/10/23 Prediction:
- Wolves 2-1 Newcastle
- Wolves draw no bet
- Both teams to score
