Republic of Ireland vs France – Verdict
With Callum Robinson out of the Ireland squad, it was Brighton’s Evan Ferguson who started up front against Latvia last Wednesday.
The forward marked his third international appearance with his maiden international goal and he could reappear for the visit of France. Fellow attackers Troy Parrott and Michael Obafemi are also in contention.
Captain Seamus Coleman was not involved in the friendly and his status remains under questioning ahead of Monday.
France, on the other hand, will be led by newly named captain Kylian Mbappe.
Antoine Griezmann and 36-year-old Olivier Giroud are also expected to take part in the trip to Dublin.
There are also injury issues in the squad as Wesley Fofana and William Saliba have both withdrawn from camp.
Mike Maignan, meanwhile, is expected to feature in goal following the international retirement of Hugo Lloris.
France haven’t lost against Ireland since 1981 and they will be intent on continuing that unbeaten run this Monday night.
While recent head-to-head encounters have been relatively low scoring, our recommendation is to back the French to win in style.
The visitors to score over 2.5 goals and Kylian Mbappe to get on the scoresheet are the two main tips.
