Nottingham Forest vs Brentford – Preview
Nottingham Forest and Brentford are just one place and one point apart in the Premier League table ahead of their match at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon.
Neither side has found a winning formula so far this season and we suspect there will be just as little to separate the two sides on the pitch.
Brentford didn’t offer much when losing 1-0 to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, while Forest were unsurprisingly limited against Man City last time out.
The more disappointing result for Thomas Frank’s side was the 3-1 loss to a so far calamitous Everton side at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Bees will be looking to hit back against a side they took four points from last season, but the early signs are Steve Cooper’s men are doing well.
Forest have undoubtedly had the tougher fixture list so far, losing to three of the potential top four, but they also made the most of Sheffield United, Burnley and Chelsea.
There’s an argument to be had that they deserved something from two of those three teams, particularly Man Utd where they led 2-0 and limited their chances in open play.
Brentford’s reliable defensive form may have deserted them in recent times, but they still know how to set up to frustrate teams away from home.
Forest will typically look to bide their time and hit the Bees on the break, so you have to wonder if either side can take the initiative with any real quality on Sunday.
There’s little in the form book to split these two sides at the moment so a cagey draw feels like the most likely outcome.
