Chelsea vs Arsenal Match Details:
This game will be played at Stamford Bridge, London – Kick Off time: 17:30 (BST)
Former teammates Mikel Arteta and Mauricio Pochettino meet for the first time as opposing managers as Arsenal travel to Chelsea for the early Saturday evening kick-off.
Chelsea vs Arsenal Preview:
The pair played together for a year at Paris St Germain, both arriving in 2001 and striking up a friendship that lasts until the present day.
Pochettino has had a turbulent return to the Premier League since he took the reins at Chelsea in May and it’s unlikely his great friend will make it any easier for him.
The international break came at the wrong time for Chelsea who were actually starting to build some momentum following a rotten start to the campaign.
The Blues won two of their first seven games across all competitions, but then shook off their shackles and won their next three consecutively. Chelsea beat Brighton, Fulham and Burnley before heading off for the international break.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have been flying since week one. The Gunners head into the weekend second in the table and have a chance to go top until at least Monday night.
The Gunners went into the international break with a 1-0 victory over defending champions Manchester City.
Chelsea have battled with injuries from the first week of the season and the situation remains difficult for Mauricio Pochettino ahead of the weekend.
Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka, Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku are all out of action.
There are also doubts over Benoit Badiashile, Marcus Bettinelli, Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah, Axel Disasi, Reece James and Cole Palmer.
Arsenal remain without Jurrien Timber. There are also question marks over the availability of Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Leandro Trossard
Arsenal will now look to make a bit of history as they look to become the first team since Watford in the 1980s to win four straight matches at Stamford Bridge.
Mikel Arteta’s men have scored a goal in every game this season and we’re backing them to continue that run.
Arsenal to win the match and both teams to score is another enticing possibility in the betting.
Prediction:
- Arsenal to win and both teams to score
- Over 2.5 goals
- Winning margin – one goal
