Brighton’s emphatic away performances, a 4-1 win over Wolves and a 3-1 win over Man Utd, have reminded everyone of the threat they pose but also highlighted defensive deficiencies.
Meanwhile, Emery’s men have won their previous nine Premier League matches at Villa Park, a run which has seen them beat Brighton, Tottenham and Newcastle.
Both sides are also on a remarkable goalscoring run in which they’ve scored in each of their last 16 home and away matches respectively.
They’ve found the net a combined 70 times between them during that run-in and managed to concede more often than not, particularly in Brighton’s case, so goals are likely.
