Friendly Soul took the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket at odds of 10/1
Tattersalls Musidora Stakes – York 3:45, 15th May
Following a hugely impressive return to action at Newmarket just 10 days ago, the Gosden stable roll the dice again quickly and they have Friendly Soul running in the recognised Oaks trial, the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York. On the back of a Kempton Novice victory in December, Friendly Soul arrived at Newmarket relatively unfancied at odds of 10/1 yet the daughter of Kingman belied those odds with a commanding display of front running at Headquarters. Leading from very early in the 1m2f Pretty Polly Stakes, Friendly Soul kept winding up the gallop to see off the bang in form and very well backed favourite Kalpana by a length and a quarter. It was then a further 12 lengths back to the third horse Kitteridge and the time of the race was strong too. She heads to York as a solid favourite and if the quick turnaround doesn’t find her out, she will take all the beating.
Longines Valiant Stakes – Ascot 2:25, 27th July – 1st
We hope that Friendly Soul can bounce back to winning ways at Ascot the Daughter of Kingman looked potentially very smart when winning listed Pretty Polly at Newmarket (1¼m) on just her second start. Failed to beat a rival when odds-on for the Musidora Stakes at York (10.2f) later in Mays though, hanging badly right.
