The unexposed Whizz Kid remains of interest despite failing to land a significant gamble at Aintree a fortnight ago. On his Flat form a mark of 126 still looks very lenient. Doctor Parnassus ran very well when 7th in the Triumph hurdle on just his 3rd start and the drying conditions should be in his favour as he tackles handicaps for the first time. The continuously improving Head Law looks well worth a try at this level after some impressive wins at Warwick and Southwell.

A disappointing turn out here, but ERNE RIVER has fewer question marks than most and must be included, along with MISTER FISHER who should be suited by the conditions and the small field.

Greaneteen won this race 12-months ago and has a fine record at the track. He is hard to oppose and is worth forgiving his poor run at the Dublin Racing Festival when the entire yard was out of sorts.

Win My Wings and Kitty’s Light fought out the finish in the Scottish Grand National 3-weeks ago and provided that they are over those exertions, they should go close again. Christian Williams has dominated this division this season and so Cap Du Nord is also worth including.

Paul Nicholls looks to hold the key here. Scaramanga makes his return from a break but should go close if fully wound up, whilst the 3rd placed finish of McFabulous in the Aintree Hurdle is easily the best recent form on offer.

Beakstown won nicely at Ayr and should go well again despite a 6lb rise, whilst the progressive Brief Ambition also needs including after a hat-trick of wins at Kempton and Ludlow.
