The stiff finish should also suit MONSIEUR POM POM who has chased home some nice types at Catterick and enters handicaps on a fair mark.

The step up in trip looks sure to suit KNAPPERS HILL, who was outpaced in the Betfair hurdle last time before running on at the finish. THUNDER ROCK brings the best form to the table after his win at Huntingdon and looks sure to go well despite a 6lb rise. OUR JET also has to be included after he beat a subsequent winner at Wetherby, and he enters handicaps on a workable mark for the Skelton’s.

There probably isn’t a festival winner in this field, but it is still competitive. MR GREY SKY has won his last 2 and looks well worth a try at this level, as does BALCO COASTAL who is surely better than a mark of 134 after his 2nd placed finish in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham. SAMARRIVE is best forgiven his lackluster effort on Heavy ground at Ascot last time and if he can recapture the form he showed when winning here in December, he should be involved in the finish too.

MULLENBEG sets the standard and with Milton Harris having such a good season, she can’t be ignored. Willie Mullins always does well in March, and it is interesting to see EABHA GRACE make the trip. She found the Mares bumper at the DRF too competitive, but this is easier and the ability she showed on debut at Thurles makes her of interest in this company.

DORKING LAD continues to improve and should go close in pursuit of his hat-trick, whilst DANNY KIRWAN finally put things together to win at Wincanton last time and should build on that here.
