Selections

1:50

1m 1f Sky Bet & Symphony Group Strensall Stakes (Group 3)

MIGHTY ULYSSES (7) rates as a Gosden runner who is improving nicely. Can back up his comfortable success over ALFLAILA (5) among Listed company at Newmarket last-time-out while the latter went one better scoring in the same grade at Pontefract and with the extra furlong to suit may provide the main danger. Four-year-olds surprisingly have a good record in this event and CADILLAC (2) cannot be ignored following a narrow defeat in a Listed contest at Newbury. FINEST SOUND (3) is also worth considering.

2:25

1m 6f Sky Bet Melrose Stakes (Heritage Handicap)

SOUL STOPPER (2) scored tackling this trip at Chester on handicap debut and is considered up in weight. The Godolphin pair of WILD CRUSADE (1) and AL NAFIR (6) are both impossible to leave out with Buick opting for the former following a ready Ascot handicap success. SOULCOMBE (13) caught the eye when a running on fourth over 1m 6f at Goodwood and needs the utmost respect.

3:00

Sky Bet City of York Stakes (Group 2)

The quick ground is essential for SACRED (8), and she might find that here. The word from her camp is positive, and although she slightly disappointed when fifth at Goodwood it is easy to forgive that effort as maintains solid credentials when at her best. Little separated SANDRINE (10) and KINROSS (5) when they finished first and second in the aforementioned G2 Lennox Stakes at Goodwood. The pair are sure to feature once more, and preference is given to the runner-up who was short of room in the closing stages. AL SUHAIL (1) holds the ability to be involved while JUMBY (4) cannot be dismissed on the back of winning the G2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury.

3:35

1m 6f Sky Bet Ebor (Heritage Handicap)

GAASSEE (15) failed to retain the winning thread when third at Newbury however did look a tad unlucky in running. The William Haggas-trained four-year-old appears to have been aiming for this event, and given course, form is preferred in this competitive race. EARL OF TYRONE (14) looks progressive and is expected to make a bold bid following a Listed Limerick success. Fellow Irish raider OKITA SOUSHI (7) brings a nice unexposed profile and may go well on the back of a good second attempting slightly further at Leopardstown. JOHN LEEPER (6) is interesting in competing in a race likely to suit while EUCHEN GLEN (17) might be worth noting.

4:10

6f Sky Bet Constantine Stakes (Heritage Handicap)

A nose separated COMMANCHE FALLS (1) and TABDEED (2) when the pair met in the Steward Cup (Handicap) at Goodwood last-time-out. The former clearly arrives in good condition and can make a bold bid off 3kg higher though the latter is fitted with first-time cheekpieces and could be capable of reversing form with this swing in the weights. Form of a SPANGLED MAC (16) Ascot second took a boost when the winner scored here on Thursday. Rates highly maintaining a progressive profile. REGIONAL (4) must be respected following a good third in the aforementioned Goodwood event while MR WAGYU (3) holds place claims.
