Virgin Bet Horris Hill Stakes (Group 3) (7f)
Roger Teal won this with a decent horse in 2019 and he looks to have another nice one on his hands courtesy of CARAGIO (2). He caught plenty of people’s eye when narrowly denied over course and distance on debut and readily accounted for a very solid yardstick when winning by 3L at Leicester. This clearly demands a further step up but he looks like a sizeable gelding with plenty of scope and is selected to make a winning step up in grade. Impressive Sandown debut winner STRIKING STAR (9) is feared most for a yard that can seemingly do no wrong of late. LORD OF BISCAY (6) won in good style at Yarmouth first-time-out and like most of these could be anything while similar comments apply to KNIGHT (5).

Virgin Bet St Simon Stakes (Registered As The St Simon Stakes) (Class 1) (Group 3) (1m4f)
William Haggas and Tom Marquand teamed up to win this last year and they look likely to repeat the feat thanks to HAMISH (1). Top-rated he certainly looks to have the best form in the book and can follow up smooth success in the G3 Cumberland Lodge having chased home top-class stayer Kyprios in the G1 Irish St Leger at the Curragh prior. The main danger may come from PASSION AND GLORY (5) who did little wrong off the front when third in Listed company over 1m 4f at Newmarket last start. LONE EAGLE (4) was a classy three-year-old and has the form to be firmly in the mix while MAX VEGA (2) seems to run his best races here.
