Oakman Inns Rous Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) 5f
The improving MANACCAN (3) looked an unlucky loser (suffered a troubled passage) when a narrow third in the Listed Rous Stakes at Newbury recently. John Ryan’s improving three-year-old is proven over course and distance and selected to regain the winning thread. The top-rated KING’S LYNN (1) wasn’t disgraced when eleventh (beaten 4.5L) in the G1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June and holds obvious claims back down in grade with the ground to suit. TIS MARVELLOUS (4) disappointed when seventh behind Manaccan in the aforementioned Newbury event but certainly has the form to play a role while EBRO RIVER (2) would hold claims on a going day.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) 1m 4f
HAMISH (1) ran an absolute blinder when runner-up to top-class stayer Kyprios in the G1 Irish St Leger at the Curragh last-time-out and can record a second success of the year back down in grade. HIGH DEFINITION (6) cannot be ignored on official ratings but will probably need to better his recent fifth in the G2 Prix Foy over this trip at Longchamp (soft). With that in mind, the bigger danger may come from CRESTA (8) who hacked up by 6.5L in the Windsor August Stakes just over a month ago. GET SHIRTY (5) and THIRD REALM (7) are worth considering.

John Guest Racing Bengough Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) 6f
A competitive renewal of this G3 sprint for three-year-olds and above where ROHAAN (4) is given narrow preference. David Evans’ charge is three from four over course and distance looks a solid option following a good third in the G1 Haydock Sprint Cup last month. FLAMING RIB (8) took a keen hold when fourth in that event and certainly has the form to feature. AL SUHAIL (1) is tricky but cannot be left out the equation on the back of a fair fifth in the G2 York Stakes at York over 7f. COMMANCHE FALLS (2) ran a momentous race off top-weight in a competitive Ayr handicap and can be on the premises while the in-form GALE FORCE MAYA (11) is respected.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro Challenge Cup (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) 7f
FRESH (5) absolutely loves here and is taken to deliver a course and distance hat-trick having narrowly got the better of SILENT FILM (14) four weeks ago. The latter mentioned needs to prove he can replicate that form but will clearly be in the mix if doing so with a swing in the weights. SYMBOLIZE (11) shaped better than the bare result when sixth over 1m at Doncaster and he can go well back in trip down 2lbs. BLUE FOR YOU (8) travelled ominously well before scoring by a head at York and looks a strong candidate while RIVER NYMPH (9) cannot be ignored in what looks a competitive handicap.
