Selections

Warwick

13:50

Hampton Novices’ Chase (Grade 2) (3m)

COMPLETE UNKNOWN (1) jumped well to score making a chase debut over a shorter distance at Ffos Las. Could remain unbeaten with fences representing the top stable. GALIA DES LITEAUX (4) rates a huge danger if able to put a modest jumping outing at Kempton behind her. Key chance on previous winning form. THE GOFFER (3) and GENTLEMAN AT ARMS (2) are both lightly raced chasers who cannot be easily ignored in what appears a tricky contest.

14:25

Ballymore Leamington Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2) (2m5f)

A superb feature race where all seven runners hold chances after last-start victories. KNOWSLEY ROAD (4) defied a penalty landing back-to-back Chepstow hurdles in fine style. Improving and expected to go close. GREY DAWNING (3) justified strong market support by winning a valuable Kempton handicap hurdle in the latest outing. The huge danger with a thoroughly progressive profile. GINNY’S DESTINY (1) dominated a course and distance hurdle at big odds delivering on only the second hurdle outing. One to take seriously. Dual hurdle winner SNAKE ROLL (7) must be respected if allowed to dictate the tempo which looks likely with a lack of pace in the race.

15:00

Wigley Group Classic Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (3m5f)

A competitive renewal of this stamina-sapping handicap chase where THREEUNDERTHRUFIVE (1) is likely to be challenging at the finish. Former course winner who may improve by stepping up in journey. MR INCREDIBLE (6) was brought down on reappearance at Leopardstown. Unexposed and rates highly representing top yard. Three-time chase winner GUETAPAN COLLONGES (13) looks to be on the upgrade after a smooth course win. Feared. IWILLDOIT (3) triumphed in the valuable Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase prior to a lengthy absence. Major appeal if sharp enough with proven stamina. One to include for those looking at bigger prices on the day.

15:35

Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (Qualifier) (Class 2) (3m1f)

ASHTOWN LAD (4) scored a valuable handicap chase over a longer distance at Aintree. Well-treated reverting to hurdles and has a notable winning chance. SIRE DU BERLAIS (1) must be seriously considered returning to handicap company attempting a trip that is in his wheelhouse. In the mix is the talented RONALD PUMP (2) while ON THE BLIND SIDE (3) cannot be ignored on the pick of his hurdle form but hasn’t brought his A-game to the track in recent starts.

Kempton Park

13:30

Coral Committed To Safer Gambling Handicap Chase (Class 2) (3m)

ENRILO (1) looked to be going well prior to taking a crashing fall tackling the G3 Badger Beer Handicap Chase at Wincanton in November. No surprise to see Paul Nicholls give him time off subsequently and a chance is taken as his current mark is within reach and yard maintains remarkable form at present. Consider. TILE TAPPER (7) proved his stamina when runner-up over course and distance. Warrants respect alongside the third home that day SMARTY WILD (4). ANNSAM (2) finished sixth in a competitive Newbury handicap last outing and rounds out the shortlist. A wide-open race.

14:05

Coral Silviniaco Conti Chase (Grade 2) (2m41⁄2f)

Paul Nicholls won this in 2020 and 2021 and PIC D’ORHY (2) is selected with the eight-year-old in top form following a win in the G2 Peterborough Chase. Can complete a hat-trick. It was almost certainly a career-best performance PAINT THE DREAM (4) produced when running away with a competitive handicap at Newbury in November and although his best form has come at that venue he looks tough to ignore as the top-rated entry. SAINT CALVADOS (3) was beaten at a short price on reappearance. May bounce back wearing a first-time hood. ANGELS BREATH (5) is fascinating resuming from a mammoth 1121 days off the track, it would be an amazing training performance if he were to win this one.

14:40

Coral Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) (2m5f)

A competitive renewal for this feature handicap hurdle. Handicap debutant OUTLAW PETER (12) was more than entitled to score at Exeter last time. It is interesting that Paul Nicholls saw him fit to contest the G2 Persian War at Chepstow last October where he produced a solid effort by finishing second. The fifth has since won a Cheltenham handicap suggesting this opening mark could be well within range for a yard in form. Irish raider GREEN GLORY (16) commands the utmost respect following a handicap debut success at Leopardstown. WEST BALBOA (10) holds the right profile for this race and must be considered while others to note include Newbury second PETIT TONNERRE (4) and DUBROVNIK HARRY (15). A mouth-watering competitive clash is on the cards today.
