4:25 Warwick – Not That Fuisse
Having finally managed to put in a good round of jumping, Stratagem could be hard to beat following his Ludlow win last week, but he has failed to put consecutive performances together in the past and is worth taking on at a likely short price. NOT THAT FUISSE reached a peak rating of 138 in handicap chases for the Skelton’s and it is less than a year ago that he finished 4th in a decent Listed Chase at the Scottish National meeting. He was unlucky to be brought down at Ludlow in February before he had the chance to deliver his challenge but made amends for that with an impressive win at Fakenham 2-weeks ago when he won readily under Tristan Durrell. The drying ground should suit him here and he should get a decent pace to aim at courtesy of Tango de Juilley and Drakes Well. The race should setup perfectly for him and that makes him very interesting.
3:05 Naas – Bold Approach
BOLD APPROACH reached a peak rating of 99 on the flat when he was trained by Jim Bolger and should appreciate the return to a sounder surface based on that Flat form. He has run with credit in his 2 starts over hurdles for Brendan Duke, finishing 4th on debut at Fairyhouse before chasing home Kilcruit at Punchestown 2-weeks later. Although outclassed by Kilcruit, he beat the remainder of that field relatively easily and the horses in behind him did bring a fair level of form into that Punchestown contest. He looks one of the more likely types for this rated hurdle and as he also ran well here on the flat in October, he makes a lot of appeal.
