2:15 Navan – Creative Power
On paper this would look to be a good opportunity for New York City. He has an official rating of 101 and if he runs to that mark, he could be hard to beat, but he had plenty of chances to break his maiden tag last season and didn’t take them. His pedigree doesn’t guarantee him a career as a 6-furlong sprinter and so he could be worth taking on with CREATIVE POWER. From the family of Slade Power, Eddie Lynam does exceptionally well with this family and with a pedigree that would suggest she could make up into a useful 3-year-old sprinter. Drawn nicely in stall 4, she gets 5lbs from the colts and geldings and with the drying ground likely to be in her favour, she is of obvious each-way interest against a favourite who will be priced on his connections rather than solely on his ability.
1:30 Fontwell – Allavina
On official ratings, ALLAVINA has something to find to beat the likely short-priced favourite Friend or Foe, but in receipt of 16lbs, she is interesting in what seems likely to be a tactical race. Goa Lil is likely to make the running, which could give the other 2 something to chase down and if it turns into a sprint for home, there is reason to believe that Allavina could win the dash. She has chased home sone talented horses so far this season, beaten less than 3-lengths by Maskada and Zambella at Leicester before a similarly promising performance when 3rd to Fantastic Lady at Bangor last time out. Both pieces of form would suggest that she is well treated on a mark of 130 and could prove decent value to cause the upset.
