MITBAAHY – WIN
The Roger Varian trained Mitbaahy only won a maiden as a two-year-old and could not get competitive in stakes races.
However, he looks an improved colt this season and has won two of his three starts. He was an easy winner of a conditions race at Hamilton two runs back before an impressive success in the Scurry Stakes next time. He travelled powerfully in the Listed contest over course and distance last month to score by 1.5L.
He takes on older rivals in for the first time in this race but has an excellent chance on the ratings at these weights. He has been slow away in a couple of races recently and Stall 1 could be an issue if he gets trapped on the inside. However, he has a smart turn of foot and is a sprinter to keep on-side.
