Selections

13:25

TRUESHAN (5) won this last year in sensational fashion and with conditions looking like they’ll be spot on can replicate that brilliant success. The progressive ELDAR ELDAROV (7) stayed on to win the last classic of the season when taking out the G1 St Leger at Doncaster recently. There could be more to come from this unexposed three-year-old and rates the main threat. The highly-touted WATERVILLE (8) made a late dash to win a fiercely-competitive Curragh handicap and cannot be ignored for Aidan O’Brien. QUICKTHORN (2) would be dangerous if allowed an easy lead.

14:00

Conditions will be no issue for ROHAAN (10) who looked to be right back to his best winning the G3 Bengough Stakes over course and distance last-time-out. This venue clearly suits and it would surprise if he weren’t involved at the finish. CREATIVE FORCE (3) won this last year and sets the standard. Likely to have been saved for this after a slightly below par fourth in the G1 July Cup at Newmarket (July). Stablemate NAVAL CROWN (9) just beat him in the G1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot and might be thereabouts if able to put a disappointing effort in the G1 Haydock Sprint Cup behind him. KINROSS (8) looked as good as ever winning the G1 Prix De La Foret at Longchamp and is interesting tackling 6 furlongs for the first time.

14:40

ETERNAL PEARL (12) seems to produce just enough in her races and there is every possibility we’ve not seen what she is truly capable of yet. The form of her G3 Princess Royal Stakes win at Newmarket is hardly a standout but she looked to be doing her best work late and is considered up in grade. MIMIKYU (13) kept on stoutly beating last years winner ESHAADA (2) by 2.75L in the G2 Park Hill Fillies Stakes at Doncaster and must be respected representing connections who won this in 2016 with her full sister while the latter mentioned could be thereabouts once more. It would be dangerous to discount EMILY UPJOHN (11) if bouncing back to her best wearing the first-time hood.

15:20

Three-year-olds have a good record in this and it’s hard to get away from INSPIRAL (9) who receives her additional fillies allowance. The Gosden-trained filly had to pull out all the stops returning to winning ways in the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville but is almost certainly capable of better as she was able to prove when winning the G1 Coronation Stakes at this venue in June. JADOOMI (2) is progressive and rates the main danger. He certainly deserves his place against this line up following a comfortable 4L victory in the G2 Solonaway Stakes at Leopardstown (soft). MODERN GAMES (8) found success in the G1 Woodbine Mile (Canada) last-time-out and could be thereabouts provided the ground isn’t too testing. THE REVENANT (5) won this in 2020 and cannot be ignored.

16:00

BAAEED (2) will attempt to end his remarkable career on a high by making it a perfect eleven out of eleven. All stamina doubts were seemingly shunned when beating his rivals in the G1 Juddmonte International at York. Connections have opted for this event over a trip to Paris for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and can be duly rewarded by seeing their superstar complete a memorable career in style. In terms of likely dangers the Charlie Appleby-trained ADAYAR (1) returned with an effortless success in a conditions event at Doncaster and might be the one to chase him home. BAY BRIDGE (3) ran below par finishing fifth in the G1 Eclipse Stakes at Sandown and may yet be capable of better while ROYAL CHAMPION (7) and DUBAI HONOUR (4) are interesting each-way alternatives.

16:40

MIGRATION (2) has not been seen since running a subsequent Listed winner to a head at Newbury back in April however clearly goes well fresh and looks to hold decent credentials from stall twenty three. Consider. TYRRHENIAN SEA (4) shaped favourably when fifth in a competitive Doncaster handicap last-time-out and cannot be ignored while Goodwood winner BLUE FOR YOU (13) will appreciate stepping back up in trip following a disappointing effort here. ESCOBAR (1) won this in 2019 and must be considered on the back of a win here last outing. Others to note include SWEET BELIEVER (12) and ASTRO KING (15).
