  • 6:35 Punchestown – Barberstown Castle Novice Chase (G1)

Most of this field ran in the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival and were soundly beaten by Edwardstone, who powered up the hill to record a 4-length victory. Following that same form line, Edwardstone was subsequently beaten by GENTLEMAN DE MEE in the Maghull Novices’ Chase at Aintree 3-weeks ago and whilst racing may not always be that simple, in this case we think that it is. Willie Mullins kept him away from the Cheltenham festival in order to allow him to gain more chasing experience, but he took the step up to Grade 1 company in his stride last time and on these terms, it is hard to envisage him not proving too good for rivals we know all about.
