Closely matched on form with Alter Adler, ROAD TO ARC shaped well enough on his return to action at Saint-Cloud last month to suggest that he would improve significantly for the benefit of that run. Jerome Reynier has his string in fine form and has placed his son of Planteur to good effect all over Europe. Closely matched with Alter Adler on their 1,2 finish in the Gran Premio de Jockey Club in Italy in the autumn, he does have a 2lb penalty to carry for that success. This race looks a match between them, but whilst Alter Adler is an admirable horse, he lacks a turn of foot and that makes him vulnerable, especially on decent ground.
