His connections appear to have accepted that he won’t beat Allaho and so a change of race planning could be the key for FAKIR D’OUDARIES. He won the G1 Melling Chase at Aintree in April on his last visit to the UK and his win in the G2 Clonmel Oil Chase in November confirmed that he should be well suited by the track and conditions on Saturday. There isn’t much between the runners in this field, but as a 7-year-old he has more potential for improvement than most of his rivals and it can certainly be argued that he is the most consistent runner in the field. His 2nd placed finish in the Ryanair last season is easily the best form on offer here and he ran perfectly respectably when 2nd to Allaho again at Thurles last month. He should get a nice pace to track and may outclass his rivals.
