He isn’t the most reliable for “win” purposes, but MELON sets a very clear form standard in this company, and he won on his last drop in grade, when he got the better of Sizing Pottsie in the Red Mills Chase in February. He found Allaho too hot to handle (again) in the Ryanair at Cheltenham, but there is nothing of that calibre in this field and he should really prove too strong for his rivals, despite the penalty on his back. Most of his rivals have questions to answer over their current form or their ability to compete in this grade and so with Melon the only horse with genuine Grade 1 form, he should gain a deserved success.
