This doesn’t look to be the deepest renewal of the Scurry stakes but it is interesting to see that CATURRA has been sent here instead of waiting for Ascot next week.
Clive Cox’s 3-year-old does have a penalty to carry for last season’s Group 2 win in the Flying Childers at Doncaster, but that still leaves him on better terms than a handicap with 4 of his 5 rivals here. He made a pleasing comeback at Chantilly in April before being an unlucky 5th in the Sandy Lane at Haydock last time, when not getting a clear run at a crucial time.
The small field should help him get a better rub of the green and he has reached a level of form 10lbs better than most of his rivals have. If he runs to his mark of 110 that should be more than enough to win this race.
