Favourites do not have a good record in this race, with just 2 of the last 10 SP Favourites obliging and so we are keen to exploit that angle in this race, especially as the early market leader, Bashikirova was fairly beaten by the reopposing Mrs Fitzherbert at Goodwood. Andrew Balding isn’t renowned for winners at Epsom, but he has a healthy 14% strike rate here since 2012 and there are plenty of reasons for optimism with Majestic Glory. She receives 12lbs from the principles and it is interesting to see her connections pitch her in against the older horses so soon in her 3-year-old season. She can be considered an unlucky 3rd behind Wild Beauty at Newbury, where she was bumped at the start and left with too much to do in the Dubai Duty Free Stakes. She was beaten less than 2-lengths and considering that was her first start since October it was not a bad way to start her season. As a daughter of Frankel, the step up to the extended mile should be no issue at all and may bring out further improvement. Ryan Moore retains the ride and should be able to get her into a decent position from stall 3, which makes her of interest in an open race.
