A small field chase with all 4-runners not quite up to top class company. That said, it is competitive, with very little between the 4. Captain Guinness and Cash Back were both well beaten by Chacun Pour Soi in the Dublin chase and although this looks an easier contest, they aren’t certain to run their race. Darasso has run very well over hurdles this season and looks to be taking his chance in a weak contest over fences, but there is no doubt that he is a better hurdler than a chaser. All those doubts lead us to BLACKBOW. Willie Mullins 9-year-old has been running well in competitive handicap chases under top weight so far this season and didn’t see out the trip when 5th at the Dublin Racing Festival last time. The drop back to 2-miles should suit and he could outclass his rvials on these terms. He won his beginners chase over this trip and his strong travelling style could be the key, with a decent pace almost assured with Captain Guinness in the field.
