Paul Nicholls made the decision to withdraw THYME WHITE from the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham festival on account of the soft ground, so he should have no issues with the forecast “good” ground at Ascot. A talented juvenile, he has taken his time to return to form since switched to fences but produced his best performance to date when winning at Doncaster over Christmas. Although he has weight to give away, he does have a clear edge over his main rivals here and he should gain some compensation for his connections to make amends for last weeks no show.
