This doesn’t look to be the deepest renewal of this race and so it will be a disappointment if CORACH RAMBLER can’t land this. Lucinda Russell’s 8-year-old looked very progressive when winning at Aintree and Cheltenham before Christmas and put up a solid display when 4th in the Classic Chase at Warwick last month. Giving weight away all round, he could never get on terms and perhaps found the extreme trip tested his stamina too much under the conditions. It was still a good performance and the drop back to 3-miles looks to be in his favour and he should continue his improvement if none the worse for his Warwick effort.
