Selections

When she won at Cheltenham in November, GIN ON LIME was completing her 5th win in 8 starts over fences for Henry De Bromhead. Although she was a fortunate winner after all but coming down at the 2nd last, where her only rival My Drogo also came to grief, it should be noted that she was still upsides him at the 2nd last and if she can match that level of form, she should probably be favourite for this race. There is no getting away from the fact that this is not the deepest renewal of this race, with the fact that Bob Olinger and Galopin Des Champs have dominated this trip probably not helping the lack of depth in this division, but in receipt of a mare’s allowance, she looks to be the most likely winner. Returning from a break should be no issue as the yard have been successful with other mares who were given a similar campaign, most notably Put the Kettle On. Gin on Lime won on her comeback at Killarney last May as well as after a 66-day break at Tipperary in October and looks to have been found a great opportunity for a Grade 1 win.
