Young Boys vs Manchester City Match Details:
This game will be played at Wankdorf Stadium, Switzerland – Kick Off time: 20:00 (BST)
Manchester City are expected to run up the score when they visit Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Young Boys vs Manchester City Preview:
Young Boys have let points slip in each of their first two Champions League group stage fixtures.
The Swiss side led 2-1 away to Red Star Belgrade last time out, only for the hosts to strike in the 88th minute. Before that, RB Leipzig scored two late goals in a 3-1 win at Wankdorf Stadium.
Man City had to survive a first-half scare when coming from behind to beat Red Star 3-1 at the Etihad, which was the same score they toppled Leipzig by in Germany.
There was a swagger and confidence about Pep Guardiola’s side in the second half of both of those games and that’s ominous for the Swiss hosts.
Not only is their defensive record in the group stage a worry – they’ve conceded in each of their last 14 – but teams from Europe’s top five leagues have averaged 2.4 goals per game on this ground.
None are as potent as the Champions League holders, so a rout is on the cards. City have found the net at least four times on nine occasions across their two previous UCL campaigns.
Even more ominous for Group G is the world’s most lethal hitman hasn’t scored in five appearances in Europe and is due a goal, although Julian Alvarez has scored three in two this term.
Backing the draw in the outright market should also offer some good value too.
Prediction:
- Young Boys 1-4 Man City
- Man City over 3.5 goals
- Man City -2.5 Asian handicap
- Julian Alvarez to score
