The FIFA Club World Cup continues to stage the clash of continents, as the tournament’s maiden voyage enters the knockout stages.
Clubs continue to compete for the unique chance to become Club World Champions with the first half of the quarter-final draw taking shape.
Palmeiras came out on top of Botafogo in an all-Brazilian affair, whilst European giants Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich each scored four goals to book their places in the next round.
Here, Sport Preview’s Callum Close tips up some selections for Monday night’s matches, which sees two of the four remaining ‘Last-16’ ties take place.
Inter Milan vs Fluminense: Inter Milan to win, over 1.5 Inter goals + Nonato to be carded – 13/2 (LiveScore Bet)
Inter Milan will continue their hunt for a second Club World Cup title when they take on Brazil’s Fluminense at the Bank Of America Stadium.
After their 5-0 humiliation in the Champions League final and finishing second in Serie A, Inter will be keen to get their hands on a trophy this season.
Their Group Stage campaign featured two wins and a draw, ensuring that new boss Christan Chivu is yet to taste defeat in charge of ‘I Nerazzurri’.
Next, they will face a Fluminense side who take on Italian opposition for the first time in their history.
Manager Renato Gusto has seen his team go undefeated in this tournament and add to a run of nine unbeaten matches in all competitions.
Huge task
The Brazilians face a huge task ‘on paper’, though they can take confidence from their 0-0 draw with German powerhouses Borussia Dortmund, in the Group Stage.
From a betting perspective, Inter to win with some stipulations is an obvious play.
Inter have netted at least twice in six of their last matches and for them to do so again is best priced at 5/6 (Bet365).
Combining that with Inter to win is priced at evens, although player markets may provide more value for punters.
Brazilian midfielder Nonato has accumulated three yellow cards across 11 league matches this season – more than any of his team-mates.
He has also seen yellow at this tournament and is priced at 27/10 (Unibet) to be carded in this fixture.
I think there’s value in adding these together, so the selection is Inter Milan to win, to score more than one goal and for Nonato to be carded.
It is best priced at 13/2 with LiveScore Bet.

The Camping World stadium will host the clash of two titans from their respective countries, as England’s Manchester City take on Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal.
City will arrive in Orlando off the back of scoring a tournament-best 13 goals, which has helped them in becoming the only team to win all three of their Group Stage fixtures.
Convincing winners
They began with a 2-0 win over Morocco’s Wydad, before running out convincing winners against Al-Ain and Juventus – meaning that manager Pep Guardiola retains his 100% (11/11) record at the tournament.
Whilst this represents a huge task for the Saudi Arabian side, Al-Hilal will arrive on an unbeaten run of their own, winning five of their last eight matches – including a 1-1 draw with 15-time European champions Real Madrid in their opening game of this tournament.
However, there is a chance that they will be without club captain Salem Al Dawsari, who had to withdraw from their final Group Stage match, due to an injury.
City to win is only 1/4 with most bookmakers, so the bare results market isn’t worth touching in my opinion.
For them to win both halves is at 6/4 and this could prove valuable, as they have scored within the opening 10 minutes of all three of their group group games.
This is a match in which I expect City’s scoring prowess to continue, despite Al-Hilal’s recent record against higher renowned opponents.
For that reason, the selection is going to be City to score more than two goals, with a player stipulation – Ruben Neves to be carded.
The Portuguese midfielder was booked six times in the league, as well as once in this tournament, and my selection is best priced at 4/1 with LiveScore Bet.
