Although not one of the leading lights for Mullins/Ricci, it is easy to forget that EL BARRA has only made 8 starts under rules and he has managed to win 3 of those races. He came alive last spring when the ground began to improve, winning a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse before following up in the International Novice hurdle at the Punchestown Festival. He has made 2 starts so far over fences, chasing home the talented pair of Blue Lord and Saint Sam, who both head to the Cheltenham festival this week. El Barra remains at home but looks to have been found a very winnable opportunity over fences and is a horse to look out for at the Irish Spring festivals in the weeks to come.
